Setting up and taking down. Starting again and starting over. Losing focus and regaining wisdom. All the words matter. When we share a kind word with someone else on a regular basis, we are bound to connect with someone who needed to hear what we said. Keep sharing the kind words even if you have no idea where they will land or who will hear them. If you need a course to help you learn how to lead worship, check out this link for details. I am leading the course in January. It is all online...

Today, I am grieving the loss of three women who were moms, grandmothers, and one a great-grandmother. They all died last week. To say that I am sad is an understatement. I just finished a book where the author chose a character who made up words for times when a single word did not do the emotion justice. Sad is such a small word for such overwhelming times. To take one step is to start the process. Doing nothing does nothing. Take the small step. Much joy and gratitude, Click here to access...

Check out this friendly visitor to my porch on Saturday morning. In my trial-and-error focus, I look outside before I open the door and check around under all the porch furniture before I sit down. This week’s video was recorded just at the tail of my porch friend if he had shown up on video day. Should friendy and snake be in the same sentence? The choices we make are life’s best teachers. I’m on scene 7 of my zero draft of book two, around 15,000 words. That pace is just right for me to get...

Every season is beach season for me. Clueless and Subliminal I am sometimes clueless. I don’t take hints well or even realize someone is trying to send me a subliminal message. It’s better for me if people communicate with me straightforwardly and to the point. Overthinking and Humility I can overthink just as easily. All of these mental gyrations can puff up my ego, and all the humility I have worked on is gone. I am right. I am better off. “I am” takes over. I have made some purging...

Sorting out puzzle pieces What is it like to start a new book? How does this relate to our everyday living? The knowledge of fear. The fear of knowledge. Often fear stops me cold. If I am in danger, that is a good stop. If I am in denial, lacking bravery, or making excuses, fear can stifle and shut me down. Sometimes, I fear what I do not know. Sometimes, I fear what I know. What about you? Can you hear me now? Let’s all listen. Just listen. No response other than I hear you. My fall is...

What do you pay attention to? I am often drawn to sounds that disrupt my thought process, whether I want to pay attention to them or not. Clicking pens, ticking clocks, anything that makes a sound on repeat, distract me so much that I no longer focus on what is important. How about you? Can you see my cat? FYI- these cabinets are above the refrigerator. Everybody Lies is ready for you! Click here to learn all you need to order your copy. I have five book clubs signed up to read Everybody...

What is the difference between those two words? Think about that for a minute. I can move and make no forward progress. I can act on that movement. Even if I only move one step forward, I can see a new perspective. Yesterday, I noticed a baby, bright-neon-green, lizard on the creamy white hydranga petals. As I turned to grab my phone for a picture, it moved just enough to be hidden. I can move like that, too. Can you? Five minutes can make a difference My first fiction book, Everybody Lies,...
